Local Conservation Orgs

One of the region’s largest and most influential land conservation organizations, Lakes Region Conservation Trust (LRCT) protects forests, shorelines, wetlands, wildlife corridors, and public recreation lands throughout the Lakes Region. They manage thousands of conserved acres and many popular trails around Winnipesaukee and Squam.

Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance is focused specifically on protecting Lake Winnipesaukee’s water quality and watershed health through monitoring, science-based lake management, invasive species prevention, and education. The Alliance has become a major regional voice on lake stewardship issues.

NH Lakes is a statewide nonprofit that plays a major role in the Lakes Region through advocacy, lake science, policy work, volunteer training, and the Lake Host invasive species prevention program seen across Winnipesaukee marinas and launches.

The Winnipesaukee Gateway is a central resource for Lake Winnipesaukee maps, water quality data, environmental plans, recreational information, and watershed management tools.
